VALE Denise Harvey
This has been a very sad week within the Australian Arabian Horse Community with the loss of two very influential figures. The AHSA would like to Thank Coralie for her beautiful tributes to both of these wonderful ladies.
Denise Harvey passed away on Thursday, 25th April 2019.
First I would like to honour DENISE Harvey, a long-time breeder and judge, who was in on the ground floor of many organisations, including the NSW Division and the Arabian Horse Society. She was one of the Promotions Committee who organised and ran the first Aussie Championships in 1982 in Melbourne. She was a friend of renowned British breeder Mr Musgrave Clark, and incorporated his lines in her Menarat Stud. She was also a well-known breeder of Jack Russells and Parson terriers, and of Dexter cattle. Denise was a person of strong opinions and convictions, and stood firmly by what she believed. She had a great sense of humour and always full of mischief! She was a very loyal friend, a mine of information on the breed, and a great friend of the Arabian horse.
The photo is an informal Pat Slater one of Denise riding her beloved stallion "Wart".
